The Office of the Vicar for Hispanic Catholics (OVHC) supports programs that empower youth to become leaders in their parishes, as well as in their own communities. The OVHC also believes in promoting the effectiveness of programs and activities that will help the youth discern their calling through the Catholic Church. There are a couple projects already in place through the OVHC that relate to the youth in our communities. For more information on these programs, or how you can be a part of them, please contact Suheily Flores (sflores@chs-adphila.org).

Theme: Falling in love with Christ in a world of chaos
As youth we may feel stressed, overwhelmed, and even frustrated whether it is at home, school or just in our personal lives. We find it difficult to find a natural balance between our faith and our daily lives. This is when the sense of “GUILT” sets in and dawns over us but, at times, we are so caught up in life that we completely forget to acknowledge that we have to change within us. We do not recognize that something is missing. We then feel empty and incomplete, and try to find ways to fill the void within us, but are not always successfull.
G.U.I.L.T. has been designed: for youth who believe that Christ is only important when they need Him, then feel guilt for only searching for His love in times of need; for those who cannot understand the magnitude of the love of Christ; for those who know He exists but are not sure how to find Him; for those who doubt His love for us; and even for those who have a deep passion and belief in the Lord. Through this experience they will learn that “Falling in love with Christ in a World of Chaos” is the one thing that will help them survive the very essence of hate and discouragement that society portrays in our communities.
