Saint Peter Claver Center for Evangelization
12th & Lombard Streets
Philadelphia

The Saint Peter Claver Center for Evangelization was founded on September 1, 1995. The site is considered holy ground because since 1886 it has served as a home for Black Catholics in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

The Center, under the direction of Mrs. Carolyn Jenkins, and in cooperation with the Archdiocesan Office for Black Catholics, serves as a place for workshops, retreats and other gatherings to promote the Catholic faith among African Americans.

2005 also marks the 25th Anniversary of the Office for Black Catholics. Information will be available at a later date regarding a Jubilee Reception to be held in November.
