7th grade students at Saint Martin de Porres Parish School in North Philadelphia will showcase their ballroom dancing skills in an exhibition. Under the direction of Mrs. Samantha Belloma, the students have taken 12 weeks of dance classes and will be judged in a competitive format on:

This program is supported by Mrs. Susan Shea, a parishioner from Saint Monica Parish in Berwyn, Chester County who has made children's education her avocation. Mrs. Shea, was inspired by the movie Mad Hot Ballroom, which depicts the positive effects that ballroom dancing has on inner-city children in New York City. The implementation of this program has shown the students at Saint Martin de Porres Parish School a greater respect for their peers and an increase in their self-esteem.
Mrs. Shea sits on the board of The Gesu School as well as Boston College.
