FAMILY

Hello, this is Cardinal Rigali.

The members of a loving family try to provide one another with material and emotional support. They work together to have food on the table and a nice home. They give each other affirmation and encouragement.

In addition to material and emotional support, however, the members of a loving family also need to give one another spiritual help and support. Children need guidance from their parents in developing a loving relationship with God.

Spouses should frequently talk to each other about their faith. Families should pray together and attend church as a family.

Especially during this Christmas season we look to the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph to provide us with an example of a loving family caring for one another materially, emotionally, and spiritually. Pray to the Holy Family for courage and strength.

May God bless you.
