MARRIAGE/FAMILY LIFE

Hello, this is Cardinal.

In mid-February each year, we celebrate Saint Valentine's Day, an opportunity for us to express our love to those important in our lives. Saint Valentine was a Christian martyr who gave his life out of love for God and neighbor. His life reminds us of what is at the heart of true love - giving yourself selflessly for the good of others.

The lessons of love are learned and lived particularly in family life. In the family, each member is called to be compassionate, to forgive, and to support one another. In so many ways, the family is the school of love.

This Valentine's day, I exhort all families to live fully this vocation of love. I know that the God of love will bless you with every grace.

May God bless you.
