CREATING PEACE IN OUR FAMILIES

Hello, this is Cardinal Rigali.

This holy season of Lent is a time of reconciliation. While reconciliation with anyone can be a difficult process, perhaps one of the greatest challenges is seeking reconciliation within our own families.

When someone we love has hurt us, when someone in our own family betrays our deepest trust, it can be incredibly difficult to forgive that person. Feelings of hurt and anger can be overwhelming.

Jesus, however, can help us break out of our bondage to anger and hurt. When we bring our hurt to Jesus in prayer, He can help us to find peace. Jesus will give us the courage and the strength to reach out in forgiveness to those who have hurt us - most especially to those in our own families.

May God bless you.
