GOOD WISHES TO JEWISH PEOPLE

Hello, this is Cardinal Rigali.

At Passover, the Jewish People recall their liberation from slavery and celebrate their special covenant relationship with God. Passover is a reminder of God's unique providence as the author of human freedom. The words found in the Book of Lamentations fill all of us with hope, "The favors of the Lord are not exhausted, His mercies are not spent; they are renewed every morning."

We extend to our Jewish brothers and sisters prayerful wishes for a truly blessed Passover. May they experience again the liberating love of God. And may we, Catholic and Jewish neighbors, work with all people of good will to free the world from selfishness, to strengthen hope, and to enhance human dignity and the protection of human life.

May God bless you!
