Being a Good Steward/Using our Treasure to Help Others

Hello, this is Cardinal Rigali.

America is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, and God has blessed us with abundance. While our culture focuses on materialism, it is important to remember that everything, including our treasure, comes from God.

Being a good steward means that we collaborate and cooperate with God. As recipients of God's generosity, we are to share our resources with others. There are many charities that rely on donations and individual support, such as the Catholic Charities. I encourage you to consider how you ought to use your treasure to make a difference in this world.

Remember, God invites us to be cheerful givers. As St. Francis of Assisi said, "...it is in giving that we receive."

May God bless you!
