| Eighth Synod of the Archdiocese of PhiladelphiaThe Eighth Synod was convoked by Archbishop Edmond F. Prendergast in 1912. It met at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul on August 24, with Rev. Edmund Fitzmaurice acting as secretary. The synod produced twenty-four decrees or statutes. These first reaffirmed the decisions of the Third Plenary Council of Baltimore (1884) and the First Provincial Council of Philadelphia (1880), and confirmed the statutes made by the previous bishops and archbishops of Philadelphia.
