This Mass commemorates the ministry of Saint Peter Claver, a 17th century missionary who dedicated his life to serving African Americans.
The main celebrant and homilist for the Mass will be Most Reverend Sheton J. Fabre, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Bishop Fabre was ordained in 2007 and is the youngest of the African American Catholic Bishops.
