Be Not Afraid Conference: Supporting Parents Who Experience a
Poor Prenatal Diagnosis

Description:

During Respect Life Month Catholic Social Services, Office for Life, Family and Laity and Pastoral Care for Persons with Disabilities will sponsor a workshop on how to pastorally support parents struggling with Poor Prenatal Diagnosis (PPD) – being told that their unborn baby has a structural anomaly, physical or intellectual disability.

The conference will include:
- Development of greater sensitivity to the parental experience of receiving a PPD, and learn life-affirming strategies that will encourage parents to carry to term
- Learn to support parents in the grieving process both during pregnancy and after birth

The conference is recommended for Priests and deacons, lay and religious pastoral associates, pregnancy center staff, counselors and social workers, healthcare professionals, and anyone who wants to be ready to assist couples confronted with the pain of these types of “crisis pregnancies.”

The cost of the day is $25 per person. Light breakfast and a box lunch will be provided.
