CLUSTER 14
IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE UPDATE
PHILADELPHIA - NORTH VICARIATE
St. Anselm | St. Dominic | St. Martha |
Christ the King | St. Jerome | Maternity B.V.M. |
St. Christopher | St. Katherine of Siena | Our Lady of Calvary |
The Implementation Committee of Cluster 14 met on Tuesday, February 8, 2000. The following is the latest information
from their goal committees.
MULTI-MEDIA COMMITTEE:
This committee has set up subcommittees within their goal to carry out specific multi-media projects. They are: E-Mail, Web Site, Telephone, Print/Media and Video subcommittees. This committee asked for and received approval from the Implementation Committee for the Cluster Web Site.
Web Sites and E-Mail have been set up in our cluster parishes. One person in each parish has been trained to
use them. The Print/Media subcommittee was established to advertise special events. This committee has been in
touch with the print media. A Telephone subcommittee is in the planning stage. This will be set up so people in
the Cluster 14 area can call to get information regarding the Cluster. The Video subcommittee has taped the two
programs which the Religious Education subcommittee sponsored in the Fall. They plan to edit and merge them onto
one tape which may be shown on La Salle's Channel 56 sometime in the future.
EVANGELIZATION:
Four parishes are involved in the "Disciples in Mission" program (Christ the King, St. Dominic,
St. Jerome and Maternity B.V.M.) and three parishes are visiting inactive parishioners (St. Anselm, St. Christopher
and Our Lady of Calvary).
ADULT EDUCATION:
Two programs are planned for the Spring.
- May 9, 2000 - "Spirituality in Everyday Life"
- May 17, 2000 - "Prayer of Mary"
LAY LEADERSHIP/LAY TRAINING:
This group had two guest speakers, Maryanne Harrington, Director of Church Ministry, St. Charles Borromeo
Seminary and Fr. Francis Berna, O.F.M., Director of Graduate Religion, La Salle University, speak to them at their
last meeting. What came out of that meeting is that each parish must foster Adult Formation to develop lay leaders
within their parishes. It was suggested that these speakers, or some other qualified person, come one evening and
train a group from each Parish in the Cluster to promote a faith formation committee of adults.
