Cluster 16 Implementation Committee met on April 3, 2001 at Holy Innocents Parish to track achievement of the Cluster Pastoral Plan goals and to give direction and/or assistance to subcommittees working on these goals.

#3 - To share cluster riches and spiritual resources.

#4 - To increase lay leadership and involvement in the Church with special emphasis on evangelization.

Senior Citizen Project: - It was unanimously decided to organize a "task force" comprised of a representative from each parish, to work with Catholic Social Services in addressing the needs of older adults. This committee would work together to identify neighborhood resources, could develop programs that match individuals willing to volunteer and individuals with needs, develop care-giver support programs, to name a few possibilities.

Outreach to Single Parents: - Parishes are urged to make use of the programs available through Healthy Families. This group was established to deal with issues in families with young children. It brings together a wide range of programs and services aimed at supporting parenting and fostering health family lifestyles and environments. The program Kids in the Crib works with new single mothers in their homes. Healthy Families also provides individual and group sessions on varius topics such as prenatal and parenting issues, stress reduction and many more. Plans will be made to have Healthy Families offer a course to the teachers in Cluster 16.

Cluster Pre-Cana Day: - The second Cluster 16 Pre-Cana Day will be held at St. George Parish (Salmon and Venango Streets) on September 8, 2001 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with Mass at 5:00 p.m. A date for a Spring Session 2002, will be made available in the near future.

Cluster Corpus Christi Procession: - All parishes in Cluster 16 are invited to participate in the Corpus Christi Procession led by His Eminence Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua along Allegheny Avenue on Sunday, June 17, 2001.

The next meeting of the Implementation Committee will be held on May 30, 2001 at Holy Innocents Parish.

Parishioners with questions regarding Cluster Planning are encouraged to visit the Archdiocesan Web site at www.archphila.org.
