FEBRUARY 2003
Cluster 23 / Philadelphia-South Vicariate
| St. Aloysius | St. Edmond | King of Peace |
| St. Charles Borromeo | St. Gabriel | St. Thomas Aquinas |
The recommendation of the Feasibility Study Committee of St. Charles Borromeo Parish to close St. Charles Borromeo School has been accepted by Cardinal Bevilacqua. A copy of a letter from Monsignor John Conway (Regional Vicar) announcing this decision was published in St. Charles Borromeo Parish bulletin. The school will close in June 2003. Father Majoros (Pastor) will be working with various Archdiocesan offices for the successful completion of this school year, with attention given to a celebration of the history and impact that St. Charles has had over its 134 years. A meeting was held on Thursday, January 30th, with Monsignor Conway, a staff member from the Office of Catholic Education, and the area pastors and principals who might receive St. Charles students into their schools. The purpose of this meeting was to see that appropriate accommodations are made for these students.
As a follow up to the Fall Lay Leadership Gathering at St. Edmond Church Hall, a similar meeting is being planned
for Spring 2003. Stay tuned.
