The Cluster 24 Advisory Board has held meetings in March and May.
The Board has formed a sub-committee to study the feasibility of hiring a Cluster Coordinator of Youth Ministry (Goal # 6 of the Cluster Plan). This sub-committee has been in contact with the Archdiocesan Office of Parish Youth Ministry and has received a draft of a job description for a Cluster Coordinator of Youth Ministry. The sub-committee is making arrangements with the Office to have a representative attend the September, 2000 meeting of the Cluster Advisory Board to review and advise the Board on the possibility of creating a Cluster Coordinator of Youth Ministry position.
With regard to Goal #3 of the Plan ("to encourage and educate laity to assume leadership roles in the parish/cluster"), a Cluster Liturgical Ministries Workshop is being planned for Fall, 2000.
The feasibility study for St. Casimir Parish School is continuing. An Endowment Fund is being established in an effort to encourage support from Alumni and benefactors.
St. Rita of Cascia Parish has established a Legion Of Mary chapter, and membership is open to all.
The consolidation of St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi and St. Paul parishes is almost complete and becomes effective July 1, 2000 as stated in the Cluster Pastoral Plan accepted by Cardinal Bevilacqua in April, 1999.
The Cluster Advisory Board will meet again in September. We ask for your continued prayers for the ongoing work of implementing our Cluster Pastoral Plan.
