Most Blessed Sacrament

In June 2001, it was announced that separate feasibility studies for closure of Good Shepherd and Most Blessed Sacrament parish elementary schools would be conducted. Both studies now have been completed. The final reports support the recommendations that these two schools close in June 2002.

The feasibility studies addressed such issues as provisions for continuing the religious education of the children, the availability of the neighboring parish schools to receive the students, and responding as closely as possible to the families' preferences of schools.

Each of the final reports (the one from Good Shepherd School and the one from Most Blessed Sacrament School) were submitted to the Secretary for Catholic Education and the Secretary for Temporal Services for further review. Now, the reports are being forwarded to the Cardinal Archbishop for review. Should he accept these recommendations for closure in June 2002, an announcement of this decision would be made before the end of the first semester.
