CLUSTER 33 PARISHES CONTINUE TO IMPLEMENT PLAN

(Parish Release - 1/27-28/01)

CLUSTER 33 / PHILADELPHIA-SOUTH VICARIATE

St. Agatha-St. James St. Francis de Sales
St. Barnabas Good Shepherd
St. Clement St. Irenaeus
St. Cyprian Most Blessed Sacrament

The implementation process for Cluster Pastoral Planning continues in Cluster 33, whose Pastoral Plan was accepted in March 1998 by Cardinal Bevilacqua. Among the many details which it outlined, the Plan states: "the issue of parish elementary schools within the Cluster was only touched upon briefly and will need a deeper, more detailed study.... The presence of Catholic education in the form of Catholic elementary schools remains an asset greatly valued by the Cluster Pastoral Planning Committee".

In accord with the Pastoral Plan and the implementation process, a study of four parish elementary schools in Cluster 33 is being initiated. The schools to be studied are St. Barnabas, SS. Clement-Irenaeus, Good Shepherd and Most Blessed Sacrament.

In conducting the study, these parish elementary schools will be evaluating their Catholic identity, educational program, demographics, finances, and facilities. The Cluster 33 Advisory Council will assist in this process.
