Rev. Roland D. Slobogin, pastor of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish announces that Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua, Archbishop of Philadelphia, has accepted the recommendation that Most Blessed Sacrament Parish School close in June 2002.
His Eminence reiterated that "it is most disheartening to see a parish school close". Monsignor John T. Conway, Vicar for Philadelphia-South, informing the pastors of the decisions, stated: "I greatly appreciate, as I know you do, the many years of loyalty and generous support given to (these schools) by administration and faculty, students and parents, alumni and friends".
Following Archdiocesan "Guidelines for Closing a Parish Elementary School", the staff of the Office of Catholic Education will assist the pastors and principals of these schools in facilitating the process of closure, including: further developing a plan for the transfer of students to other Catholic schools, and working with teachers who wish to be placed in other parish elementary schools within the Archdiocese.

No decision has been made regarding the future of either of these school buildings.
