Cluster 54 Begins the Task of Implementation

Father Newns, Pastor for St. Ann, called the second meeting of the Implementation & Resource Committee for Cluster 54 to order on June 12, 2000. After Father Brennan, Pastor for St. Mary of the Assumption, led the group in prayer, the committee began the task of implementation. The following tasks were accomplished:

An update on the membership list was made.

Joe Willson, St. Mary of the Assumption, presented a detailed review of the Cluster Pastoral Plan which was completed June 8, 1998, and approved by Cardinal Bevilacqua. The planning process, the purpose of the plan, cluster goals, objectives and action items were reviewed.

It was decided that the availability of priests to minister in the Cluster was still a problem in the year 2002. Monsignor Galyo, Pastor of Sacred Heart and Holy Trinity, will retire in 2002. The committee will develop a recommendation regarding Sacred Heart and Holy Trinity Parishes, the parishes affected by the retirement of Monsignor Galyo. It was decided to maintain a historical record of the Committee's work for future committee members.

Standing subcommittees were created.
