Check it out!
Cluster 66 is up and running! The planners completed the goals for our cluster and now the implementers
are hard at work putting all of the goals into action.
What is Cluster 66? Cluster 66 is the united commitment of 6 local parishes to work together to serve the parishioners. The 6 parishes and their primary representatives are:
Holy Savior (Linwood, PA) - Robert Nugent
Immaculate Conception (Marcus Hook, PA) - Nicholas DiMarino
St. John Fisher (Boothwyn, PA) - Michelle Ulasich
St. Joseph (Aston, PA) - Tom Sprows
St. Francis De Sales (Lenni, PA) - Paul Quinn
St. Thomas the Apostle (Glen Mills, PA) - Joanne Starr
In addition, the committee includes two members from the original planning committee, the parish pastors, and the Reverend Thomas J. Smith, Regional Vicar for Delaware County.
Imagine.Wouldn't it be wonderful to be informed of each parish's agenda and be able to participate in any program we choose? This is what Cluster Parishing is all about. We remain individual parishes, but now accessible to one another for anything that will help us live out our faith more completely.
What's Happening. There are six goals to be implemented concerning youth, evangelization, pastoral ministries, education and Christian service.
The Challenge. Our first goal and primary concern is our parish youth and young adults. A cluster youth council for grades 6-8 is being formed, with two young people from each parish representing the council. A facilitator from the diocese will join them and they will work out the questions and concerns our youth have regarding their faith. More information on this great program will be forthcoming.
One challenge is not enough. We are also working on goal #3, which is to encourage and educate parishioners to use their gifts for the betterment of their church in both liturgical and pastoral ministries. To help achieve this goal, every Director of Religious Education (D.R.E.) from each parish has met to consider programs and activities to help each parish utilize its full potential. Some considerations are penance services, guest speakers, and catechetical forums.
Watch for the Corner. Some time in early 2000, each parish bulletin will have a "Cluster Corner" section. All Cluster 66 parishioners will know each parish mass schedule, sacrament exposition, seminars, and more. The "Cluster Corner" will appear frequently to keep everyone updated.
Help. You are asked to remember us in your prayers; that we are inspired by the Holy Spirit to serve you as best we can and grow richer and deeper in our faith. If you have any questions or special interests regarding Cluster 66, please call your parish representative. You can get any phone number from your parish rectory. Your ideas and help will be greatly appreciated. We hope you will look forward to reading the "Cluster Corner" and that it will be of great value to you in living your faith.
