ARCHDIOCESE OF PHILADELPHIA
CLUSTER 66 IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE
UPDATE
June 2000

As promised, here is the latest report of the Cluster 66 Implementation Committee.
Goal 1
- Reinvigorating our faith through programs aimed at our youth and young adults.
A Youth Council has been formed with a 7th and 8th grader representing each of the six cluster parishes. They met twice so far, and along with an adult representative, they are attempting to address the concerns of 7th and 8th graders today. To be a part of this group, please contact your parish rectory and let your voice be heard!

Goal 2 - Evangelization. One parish (St. Thomas the Apostle) has implemented a successful Disciples in Mission program. Other parishes are very interested in this program, and they are working towards education and implementation of this as well.

Goal 3 - Enrichment of liturgical and pastoral ministries.
All parishes' DREs (Directors of Religious Education) have met and are willing to work with a Ministry Enrichment Coordinator to offer seminars and joint religious events to parishioners. A representative of the DREs has met with the Cluster Implementation Committee.

Goal 4 - Encourage parochial education. This goal is still to be addressed.

Goal 5 - Provide adult education.
This goal is being addressed with goal #3. Our DREs are working with a coordinator. Also, we are sharing Mass and Confession schedules and other special events of all the cluster parishes so that everyone can take advantage of these as their schedules permit. (See below for schedule)

Goal 6 - Provide a Christian service program for Cluster 66.
This goal will be addressed at the next Cluster Implementation Committee meeting in September.
We have begun with these goals (youth, evangelization, and adult education) because of the emphasis placed on them by our parishes during the preparation of this Pastoral Plan. We will continue to work together and ask for your prayers and continued support. We will keep you informed of our progress.
