The following are the goals of the Cluster 73 Pastoral Plan that were accepted by Cardinal Bevilacqua in April 1999. A brief report on the implementation of these goals ensues.

Goal One: To Promote Evangelization throughout the Cluster
The Corpus Christi Procession on June 17th from Immaculate Conception to St. Luke's
was a success. It is hoped that more parishioners from other parishes within the cluster
will attend next year.

Goal Two: To Promote Stewardship throughout the Cluster
The school committee and members of the marketing teams from each parish school in the
cluster will attend a seminar on ways to market our parish schools given by Mr. Greg
Geruson on October 2, 2001 at Queen of Peace School.
The social service committee has met and compiled a list of the service opportunities in
each parish. They would like to focus on the implementation of bereavement programs in
our parishes.

Goal Three: Increase Knowledge and Appreciation of Our Faith through Education and Christian Formation.
The education committee is exploring the idea of a cluster vocation committee.

Goal Four: To Improve the Celebration of Sunday Worship
The liturgy committee is sponsoring a Cluster Liturgy Worship on October 6, 2001 from 9
to 3 PM at St. John of the Cross School in Roslyn. All parishioners who give service to
the church in liturgical ministry are invited. Anyone considering liturgical ministry is
also welcome. The presenters will be:
Sister Mary Ann Johnston Topic: Dies Domini
Rev. Charles Brinkman Topic: Young Adults in the Church
Rev. Timothy Judge Topic: Visiting the Sick, at Home
And in the Hospital
Rev. Louis Bellopede Topic: Liturgy Committees - How
To be Effective
Rev. Gerald Carey Topic: Role of Music in Ministry
Dominic Manderachi Topic: Proclaiming the Word

There will also be presenters for the topics of Ushers/Greeters, and Evangelization.
This day promises to have wonderful learning opportunities for all those involved in
parish ministry. Please mark your calendar and plan to go to this event. Call your
parish rectory for more information and your intent to attend.

Any questions regarding these goals should be directed toward your parish
representatives, as listed.
