The following are the goals of the Cluster 73 Pastoral Plan that were accepted by Cardinal Bevilacqua in April 1999. A brief report regarding the implementation of these goals follows:

An update and assessment of the Cluster Plan will be discussed in Spring 2003. Rev. Msgr. John Marine has urged all parishes to review their individual parish plans to see if there are any new needs that could be met through cluster cooperation, and not considered when the cluster plan was written in 1999. He would also like the cluster team to look at any new challenges to the goals that were established in 1999.

Goal One: To Promote Evangelization throughout the Cluster
Irene McDonald, the Cluster Evangelization Coordinator, met with all pastors. She hopes to coordinate evangelization efforts through parish liaisons. All of the parishes in
the Cluster are enrolled in Evangelization Programs at this time. Cardinal Bevilacqua has accepted the invitation of the cluster to participate in the Annual Corpus Christi Procession on Sunday June 22, which travels between Immaculate Conception and Saint Luke Parishes. (Please watch Parish Bulletins for more information.

Goal Two: To Promote Stewardship throughout the Cluster
On November 6, 2002 a representative from BLOCS (Business Leaders Organized for
Catholic Schools) spoke to the pastors and invited parish representatives. This meeting discussed the Tax Credits for Education Program, which can provide scholarships to qualifying students in parochial schools.

A presentation was made on the benefits of the Archdiocesan Parish Nurse Program. These volunteers offer comfort and compassion when called upon by Pastors to visit parishioners.

Goal Three: Increase Knowledge and Appreciation of Our Faith through Education and Christian Formation.
Sister Mary James McCaffrey, I.H.M., D.R.E., Queen of Peace Parish, is coordinating
efforts for a shared High School PREP Program. Sister has the support of pastors and religious educators in the cluster parishes. There will be more information about this exciting program for high school youth to come.

The Vocation Committee from St. Luke's has been very active in promoting vocations
to the Priesthood and Religious Life. Their efforts have been concentrated in the fifth
grade CCD and parish school classes. This group would be willing to help other parishes
start a similar committee in their parish.

The Cluster 73 Young Adult Group would like new members and are working to promote their group throughout the cluster parishes. They are active spiritually, socially and give of themselves as volunteers. They give service to St. Joseph's Nursing Home and have Bible study on Tuesday evenings, to name just a few of their activities. The group would also like to serve the individual parishes in the cluster. They have many talented young people willing to give their time. For more information, please contact the group at www.ya73.org.

On March 25th, a successful workshop was held at Queen of Peace for men considering the Permanent Deaconate as a vocation.

Goal Four: To Improve the Celebration of Sunday Worship
There will be another Cluster Liturgy Workshop in the fall of 2003. Watch Parish Bulletins for more information on this wonderful faith opportunity.

As a cluster, let us all pray for peace.
