William Boland
William J. Boland, husband of Rose M. Boland (born Collins), died Oct. 3, 2004.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 8 at Our Lady of Ransom Church. Burial was at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
He was the father of William J. ll, Gerard M. and Dennis P. Boland.
Also survived by eight grandchildren.


Miles Cassidy
Miles S. Cassidy, 86, of Ardmore, husband of the late Anna M. Cassidy (born Gifford), died Sept. 27, 2004.
Mr. Cassidy worked for 30 years at the Wynnewood Post Office. He retired in 1988.
During World War II, he served in the Army.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 30 at St. Colman Church, Ardmore. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken.
He was the father of Michael M., Anne Szal, Joseph M., Rosemary A. Cassidy, Kathleen M. Shannon, Teresa A. Glacken and Bart.
Also survived by 12 grandchildren.
He was a brother of the late Bart Cassidy and Mary McGlone.


Antoinette Corretini
Antoinette M. Corretini (born Pole), wife of the late James V. Corretini, died Sept. 26, 2004.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 29 at Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
She was the mother of Lucille Robinson.
Also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was a sister of Phyllis Burbank.


Mary DiFilippis
Mary C. DiFilippis (born DeStefano), of Drexel Hill, wife of the late Frank DiFilippis, died Oct. 2, 2004.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 7 at St. Andrew Church, Drexel Hill. Burial was at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
She was the mother of Dolores Grimaldi and Frank DiFilippis.
Also survived by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was a sister Dominick DeStefano, Verna Novelli, Jane Diveley and Leonard DeStefano.


Rita Dugan
Rita M. Dugan, 76, wife of the late Gerald Dugan, died October 1, 2004 in Brigantine, N.J.
The Dugans formerly owned and operated DuganÕs Restaurant on Roosevelt Boulevard.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 5 at St. Thomas Church, Brigantine.
Surviving are a brother, James E. Clifford and a sister, Elizabeth Erdlitz.


Thomas Finn
Thomas F. Finn, 76, of Huntingdon Valley, husband of the late Lillian Finn (born Mautz), died Oct. 3, 2004.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 9 at St. Christopher Church. Burial was at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Penndel.
He was the father of Thomas W., Michael, Kimberly Finn and Mary Beth Dougherty.
Also survived by three grandchildren.
He was a brother of Sarah Fraioll.


Joseph Kenney
Joseph A. Kenney, 88, of Jenkintown, husband of the late Gertrude R. Kenney (born OÕFarrell), died Sept. 26, 2004.
Mr. Kenney was a former casket manufacturer. His company supplied caskets for Cardinals Dennis Dougherty and John O’Hara, former archbishops of Philadelphia.
He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Preparatory School and St. Joseph’s College.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 30 at Immaculate Conception B.V.M. Church, Jenkintown. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
He was the father of Joseph A. Kenney Jr., Patricia K. Quinn and Thomas E. Kenney.
Also survived by six grandchildren.
He was a brother of Lawrence A. Kenney, Mary T. Soens and the late James A. Jr., John A., William A. Kenney Jr., and Rosemary K. Hogan and Catherine K. Murphy.


Franklin Macfarland II
Franklin Shibe Macfarland II, 77, of Springfield, husband of Rita Macfarland (born Soto), died Sept. 22, 2004.
Mr. Macfarland was former traveling secretary for the old Philadelphia Athletics baseball team.
During World War II, he served in the Navy.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 28 at St. Dorothy Church, Drexel Hill. Burial was at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd.
He was the father of Franklin Shibe Macfarland III, Sean Shibe Macfarland, Grace Rose Ciurlino, Elizabeth Mirro, Rita Detwiler, Donnamarie Morrell, Joseph A. and Daniel Ciurlino.
Also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


Bro. William McDonald
Brother William J. McDonald, founder of the Servants of the Poor, died Oct. 4, 2004.
The Servants of the Poor, founded in 1987, cared for the street people of Philadelphia. They distributed food and clothing to the needy.
Brother McDonald was the son of the late Ella (born Brennan) and Joseph McDonald.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 9 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
He was a brother of Mary Dvorak, Ellen DiRenzo and Jeanette Sperduto.
Also survived by nieces and nephews.


Alberta O’Brien
Alberta T. O’Brien (born Heinzelmann), 72, of King of Prussia, wife of the late Dr. James F. O’Brien, died Sept. 28, 2004.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 2 at St. Augustine Church, Bridgeport. Burial was at St. Augustine Cemetery.
She was the mother of Sean T., Joan C. Rongione, Marsha J. Norat and Megan E. Vigrass.
Also survived by five grandchildren.


Alice Phillips
Alice (Dolly) Phillips (born Field), wife of Paul J. Phillips, died Sept. 26, 2004.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 29 at St. Pius X Church, Broomall. Burial was at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
She was the mother of Alice Hoey, James Wilson, Michael Wilson, Peg Wagner, Jeanne DeFalco, John Wilson; stepmother of Francis Phillips, Paul Joseph Phillips III and Christopher Phillips.
Also survived by 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a sister of John Field and Kay Kitzinger.
