Winners of CS&T school
subscription drive announced

The Catholic Standard & Times’ annual school subscription drive has proved, once again, how valuable the archdiocesan students are to the newspaper’s mission of evangelization. This year, parish schools throughout the archdiocese received almost $5,000 in cash-back awards as their students sold more than 3,000 subscriptions to The CS&T.

“The school subscription drive returns were very encouraging … showing a new awareness of the archdiocesan newspaper,” said Cecelia Watkins, assistant circulation manager of The CS&T.

According to Watkins, there was increased growth in the categories of new subscribers and gift-giving. “An increase in student participation throughout the archdiocese made a substantial difference,” she said.

A total of $6,500 in grant/scholarship money was distributed to archdiocesan schools participating in the subscription drive.

Prizes available for participating students included a drawing for a $1,000 grant/scholarship to any archdiocesan high school, for those who sold 50 or more subscriptions. Other grant/scholarship awards ranging from $250 to $750 were provided for participating students. Additional gift certificates to Best Buy, Circuit City and Sears were also awarded. Every student participating in the subscription drive received a mini FM Radio.
