Seminary Outreach Program

The Seminary Outreach Program is an interfaith dialogue endeavor begun as a program of the Interfaith Council on the Holocaust and currently coordinated by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia's Office for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs.

The program strives to bring seminarians together from various local Christian seminaries and the local rabbinical college, specifically: Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Lutheran Theological Seminary, St. Charles Catholic Seminary, Westminster Theological Seminary, and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College .

Seminarians meet to dialogue with one another to further mutual understanding, respect, knowledge and peace. The relationships formed may carry on into their future roles of service as many students become rabbis, ministers and priests.

Youth Symposium on the Holocaust

The Annual Youth Symposium on the Holocaust is open to students in grades 9 through 12 from public, private and parochial schools in the Delaware Valley . The one-day symposium is offered on different dates at different locations. The program includes a keynote speaker, a film, dialogue with Holocaust survivors and a special workshop for teachers. It provides high school students with a unique opportunity to learn about the destructive nature of prejudice and discrimination, the need for courage in the face of tyranny and injustice, and other important universal lessons of the Holocaust. This is especially meaningful for the youth of today, since prejudice and racism are so prevalent in our society.

''Continuing the Dialogue'' Program
