Commuter Retreat Weekend

This “commuter retreat” (weekend program with no overnight stay) is sponsored by the Legionaries of Christ. The Family Life Office recommends this program for those couples who wish to have a weekend retreat experience for their marriage preparation

The Three to Get Married Program extends over one full weekend to provide each couple with a reflective and in-depth preparation for a joyful marriage, and for love that not only endures, but actually grows stronger year after year.   The course emphasizes not only the profound commitment between a man and a woman that the marriage vows signify, but also the profound commitment to God Himself and the entire Church community.

Three to Get Marrieddraws upon the best in contemporary psychology, practical wisdom from the lived experience of married couples, and the beauty of the Church's teaching on marriage and family life, so that engaged couples might receive the best foundation on which to build a successful marriage.

A combination of spiritual, practical and theological talks, private discussions, time for prayer and reflection, aided by questionnaires for both individuals and couples, contributes to a deeper understanding of marriage and all its possibilities and challenges.  The retreat weekend is also open to newly married couples, as a means of enrichment and growth in their commitment to marriage.

It is the goal of this course that every couple grows not only in their love and knowledge of each other, but also in their love and knowledge of God Himself.  More profoundly, these two loves are intimately related.  A married couple cannot truly love each other well without loving God, and cannot love God well unless they love each other with the selfless love of Jesus Christ.

The Three to Get Married team consists of highly trained priests, married couples, and other lay professionals.

The Family Life Office recommends this program for those couples who wish to have a weekend retreat experience for their marriage preparation.

Retreat Times:
Friday: 7-9:30 PM
Saturday: 8:30 AM-5 PM
Sunday: 9 AM-4 PM

The cost for the Three to Get Married Retreat is $250 per couple, and you can register by completing this form, making a check payable to Center for Family Development, and mailing it to the address below:
