The Prison Ministry Reentry Project

In 2002, the Prison Ministry Program established the Germantown Reentry Project (now known as the Prison Ministry Reentry Project) to assist men and women with reintegration into society after being released from prison. This Project was created in response to a major crisis in Philadelphia concerning the lack of resources for this fragile population and the high rate of recidivism.

The Reentry Project is rooted in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s mission to serve our brothers and sisters, particularly the poor and needy, by generous acts of charity and by working together for peace and justice.

Today, the Reentry Project responds to the emotional, physical, and human needs of hundreds of present and past prisoners through three major initiatives: mentoring programs, individual counseling, and outreach services.
