The Board of Education for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will host an "open forum" for parents, teachers, and interested members of the community in the Bucks and Montgomery County areas on
7:30 p.m.
Lansdale Catholic High School
700 Lansdale Avenue
Lansdale, PA
The Archdiocesan Board of Education Strategic Planning Committee has recently completed a study of the growth areas of the Archdiocese. Using Archdiocesan and Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission demographic data, the committee has identified high growth areas in the Bucks and Montgomery counties, particularly near Lansdale Catholic High School and surrounding areas. The demographic data indicates that the northern region of Bucks County projects strong population growth by the Year 2020. Lansdale Catholic High School is at capacity, and is not equipped to handle the current and projected growth in this area.
The purpose of the forum is to present an overview of the options available and to give members of the community the opportunity to voice their concerns, ask questions, and give input regarding future planning. The format of the meetings includes introductions by Monsignor Philip J. Cribben, Secretary of Catholic Education, and Father Martin Cioppi, President of Lansdale Catholic High School; an overview of the options by Mr. Gerald Parsons, member of the School Board; and questions and comment from the audience.
