ARCHDIOCESE TO HOST EUCHARISTIC CONVOCATION
Jubilee Year Event Expected To Draw Thousands

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia will hold a Eucharistic Convocation on April 7, 8 and 9, 2000. This event will focus on a document written by Pope John Paul II called"The Church in America," which outlines the opportunities and challenges for the Church in North and South America as it enters the Third Millennium. The Eucharistic Convocation will begin with an Opening Liturgy on

Keynote Address: Francis Cardinal Arinze of the Vatican Curia


The Eucharistic Convocation will continue with a series of presentations on the document
"The Church in America" on
Saturday, April 8, 2000
from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Liacouras Center at Temple University

Presenters Include
Most Reverend Oscar Andres Rodriguez, Archbishop of Tegucigalpa, Honduras


The Convocation will conclude with a Eucharistic Liturgy on
Sunday, April 9, 2000
Procession begins at 2:15 p.m. Mass follows at 3:00 p.m.

Editor's Note: 1) The Friday Opening Liturgy will be broadcast live on PAX Television. Satellite coordinates are: SBS 6 Transponder 6. Video cameras will not be allowed inside of the Cathedral. A mult box feed will be available outside of the Cathedral. Still photographers and reporters will be allowed inside of the Cathedral in specially designated seating.

2) Cardinal Arinze will not be available for interviews. Catherine Rossi, Director of Communications, will conduct an interview with Cardinal Arinze on Friday morning.
