The Annual Gala, BLOCS' main event, has raised a total of $1.6 million for the Catholic Schools since 1998. Funds raised by BLOCS have impacted 3,500 students through tuition assistance, special project grants and equipment. BLOCS is led by Chairman David F. Girard-diCarlo, Esquire, managing partner of Blank, Rome, Comisky & McCauley.
Among the honored guests will be Philadelphia Mayor John Street, members of Philadelphia City Council, and local government representatives.
BLOCS relies upon the support of individuals, businesses and foundations to financially assist families in need regardless of race, color, creed, national or ethnic origin. Nearly 40% of the students attending the elementary and secondary schools in the inner city are not Catholic and 75% are minorities.
