The role of the Parish Pastoral Council in parish pastoral planning will be the subject of a full day of workshops for current and prospective parish pastoral council members and their pastors.

Saturday, March 31, 2001
8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Archbishop Carroll High School
211 Matson Ford Road

Dr Mark Fisher, Ph.D., Associate Professor at St John's Seminary in Camarillo California will offer the keynote address. There will also be fifteen workshops given by experts in parish pastoral council and parish planning from throughout the United States.

The overall theme of the conference: Renewing Parishes: Becoming Places Where Faith Flourishes is addressed by the workshops that bring to life Pope John Paul's Apostolic Exhortation "The Church in America." Each workshop addresses some aspect of this important teaching for the Catholic church in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and surrounding dioceses including collaboration between urban and suburban parishes, the role of the council members in ongoing planning for the parish, group decision making, training, and recruiting and developing parish leaders.

Registration is open to everyone. Lunch is included in the registration fee of $25.00. Individual preregistration is $20.00 each and $50.00 for groups of three.
