The ceremonies will begin in the Church with a welcome from Reverend John P. Schmeer, pastor of Saint Martin of Tours Parish, followed by a prayer service with Cardinal Bevilacqua giving the homily. The blessing of the school will take place on the grounds outside the school. Cardinal Bevilacqua will then place a crucifix in each of the classrooms. A reception will be held for parishioners in the school cafeteria immediately following.

Saint Martin of Tours Parish was established in 1885. This new school marks the first in its history. "Many young families with children are moving into the area and we need to provide a Catholic education. During the past eight years, the number of families in our parish has increased at a rate of 100 families per year. This year we have over 1,000 families," said Father Schmeer.

To address the needs of the growing community, the parish launched a capital campaign to build the $3.8 million school. The new two-story facility includes 12 classrooms, a library, computer lab, and a multi-purpose room. The school can accommodate 300 students. This year, the school has four grades, first through fourth, with 55 students, with plans to add a grade every year.
