Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will be the celebrant and homilist at a Mass on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi at Saint Adalbert Parish in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia and will take part in a Eucharistic Procession at the conclusion of Mass.

The Catholic dioceses of Pennsylvania are jointly celebrating this annual Solemnity with special Masses and Eucharistic processions. Each diocese is commemorating the feast day in its own way. Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) commemorates the institution of the Holy Eucharist. The five parishes in the Port Richmond area (Cluster 16 – Philadelphia North Vicariate) will join together for this Eucharistic Procession: Saint Adalbert Parish, Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Nativity B.V.M. Parish, Mother of Divine Grace Parish and Saint George Parish. All of the parishioners of these five parishes have been invited to participate. The Blessed Sacrament, the consecrated host, will be carried through the streets during the Eucharistic Procession.

The Eucharistic Procession will begin at Saint Adalbert Parish and will include a reading and hymn at each of four stations. From Saint Adalbert Parish, participants will process several blocks on East Allegheny Avenue to Our Lady Help of Christians Parish (East Allegheny Avenue and Gaul Street) for the first station, where an altar will be located on the church steps. The second station is approximately one block away at Nativity B.V.M. (Allegheny Avenue and Belgrade Street). The third station will be at Campbell Park on East Allegheny Avenue and the Procession will return to Saint Adalbert for the final station and Benediction. It is expected that the Procession will last approximately sixty to ninety minutes.
