Bishop Pepe will be the celebrant and homilist at the Mass. Bishop Joseph A. Pepe was installed as the second Bishop of the diocese of Las Vegas, in Nevada, on May 31, 2001. The Diocese of Las Vegas is the fastest growing Catholic diocese in the United States, with 24 parishes and a Catholic population of 430,000.

Bishop Pepe was born in Philadelphia on June 18, 1942, and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1960. He attended St. Charles Borromeo Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in 1970. Bishop Pepe served at various assignment throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, including the Metropolitan Tribunal and Chancery Office. Then, in 1993, Pepe was sent on special assignment to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he served as Judicial Vicar, Chancellor, and Vicar for Priests.
