The Most Reverend Robert P. Maginnis, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, will celebrate the annual Mass for Persons with Disabilities. The theme for this year's Mass is Creating and Fostering Communion. The Mass is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia's Department of Pastoral Care for Persons with Disabilities, which together with parishes and affiliated Church organizations, is committed to raising awareness and creating access to the life of the Church for people with all abilities.

The prelude music just prior to the entrance procession will be performed by soloist Richard Passanante with American Sign Language interpretation by Sean Murphy. The entrance procession participants will be from Catholic schools or programs serving individuals with disabilities. Choirs from St. Joseph and Presentation BVM Parishes, Cheltenham, will provide the liturgical music. Volunteers from area Catholic youth groups and high schools will assist with accommodating individuals with different abilities at the Mass.

Everyone is welcome to attend and participation is encouraged among individuals with disabilities, their families, friends, neighbors and caregivers.

A reception will be held immediately following Mass in the Archdiocesan Office Center at 222 North 17th Street. During the reception, the Nevilaires Choir, an adult choir affiliated with Overbrook School for the Blind, will perform.
