Armand D. Garcia to be Ordained to the Priesthood


The Rev. Mr. Armand David Garcia, 36, son of Ellen D. Herrmann and the late Leon R. Garcia, will be ordained to the priesthood by Cardinal Justin Rigali on

A member of St. Denis Parish, Havertown, and a native of the Philippines, Father Garcia attended Ateneo de Manila Grade School, High School and University in Manila before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood. He currently serves as a deacon at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish in North Wales.

The homilist is Reverend Monsignor Philip Ricci. The deacons are Rev. Mr. Michael Hottinger and Rev. Mr. Kevin Bobbin. Concelebrants include Reverend Monsignor Joseph Marino, Reverend Monsignor Ricci and Reverend Efren Esmilla.

There are five men in the Class of 2005. At the end of May, each of the newly ordained priests will be assigned to a parish in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Cardinal to assist the pastor of a parish.
