DEACON JOSEPH J. MANSON

1933 - 2007


Deacon Joseph J. Manson, Permanent Deacon, Saint Genevieve Parish, Flourtown, died on Saturday, December 1, 2007.

Deacon Manson was born on January 27, 1933. He attended Cecilian Academy, Saint Madeleine Sophie and Holy Cross Parochial Schools and Northeast Catholic High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from LaSalle University. He also attended Temple University for graduate studies. Deacon Manson was a retired C.P.A. from the Office of Financial Affairs with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Deacon Manson was ordained a deacon on June 4, 1989, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by His Eminence Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua and was assigned to Saint Genevieve Parish.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Most Reverend Daniel E. Thomas at Saint Genevieve Church in Flourtown on Friday, December 7, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be: Reverend Monsignor Michael Matz, Reverend Monsignor Robert Carroll, Reverend Carl Janicki and Reverend William Recchuti, O.S.A. The homilist will be Deacon Michael Conroy.

Deacon Manson is survived by his wife, Margaret, his four daughters, Joanna Wai Eng, Regina Bosca, Sally and Jennifer Manson and three grandchildren. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
