Most Reverend Shelton J. Fabre, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, will be the main celebrant and homilist for Mass honoring the Feast of Saint Peter Claver. Most Reverend Robert P. Maginnis, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia and Most Reverend Joseph R. Cistone, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, as well as many priests and deacons from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, will concelebrate Mass. The Knights of Peter Claver and the Ladies Auxiliary will also join in the procession.
The Mass celebrating the Feast of Saint Peter Claver will take place at the Historic Saint Peter Claver Church, known as the "Mother Church for Black Catholics" in Philadelphia, which was dedicated in 1892.

Bishop Fabre was ordained in 2007 and is the youngest of the African-American Catholic Bishops. His Episcopal motto is "Comfort My People", which he lives as he serves the city that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
