DEDICATION OF BLESSED TERESA OF CALCUTTA EDUCATION CENTER IN LIMERICK

On Sunday, October 5, 2008 Bishop Daniel E. Thomas, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, will dedicate the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Education Center in Limerick. Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish was established in July 2006 by the merger of St. Clare's Parish in Linfield and St. Peter's Parish in Pottstown. The opening of this Education Center is the result of the hard work of many people over a relatively short period of time. Many parishioners have worked tirelessly along with the cooperation of Limerick Township and the determination of Dolan Construction Co. to develop 30 acres of land and build a 21,000 sq. ft. building within a thirty-eight week period. The result of this hard work is the development of this state-of-the-art Education Center which meets the needs of families within the parish and throughout the community.

The Education Center accommodates the 226 student parish school, the 526 student PREP (Parish Religious Education Program) and 40 child comprehensive Child Care Program. The opportunity for these programs is greatly appreciated by the parish and local community. The parish school enrollment reflects a 40% increase from last year while the PREP program reflects a 15% increase. The initiation of the Child Care program gives families the convenience and confidence of having their children at one location.

Beginning in January, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Education Center will function as a satellite campus for local colleges and universities. Next summer, the campus of the Education Center will host numerous camps for school age children.

The dedication ceremony will take place at the 12:00 noon Mass on Sunday, October 5, 2008. For any further information contact the pastor, Fr. Brandt. 215-651-4454.
