JEFFREY ROTT TO BE ORDAINED TO THE PRIESTHOOD

A native of Collegeville, Pa., Rev. Mr. Rott has been serving as deacon at Saint Anastasia Parish, Newtown Square, Delaware County. He attended Perkiomen Valley High School and earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Business Administration from Bloomsburg (PA) University in 2000. Mr. Rott earned a Master of Divinity degree at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in 2008.

The homilist is Reverend Lawrence McNeil (Diocese of Harrisburg). The deacons are Deacon Albert Derivan and Deacon Joseph DeRosa. Concelebrants include Reverend Patrick E. Sweeney; Reverend John A. Franey; Reverend Joseph P. McGeown; and Reverend Joseph T. Szolack.
There are six Archdiocese of Philadelphia men in the Class of 2009. At the end of May, each of the newly ordained priests will be assigned to an Archdiocesan parish where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Cardinal to assist the pastor of a parish.
