NEW POPE JOHN PAUL II HIGH SCHOOL
Cardinal Justin Rigali, Archbishop of Philadelphia, has appointed Mrs. Judy Owens as the first Principal of the new Pope John Paul II High School and Sister Janet Purcell, IHM, as its first Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs, effective immediately.
Mrs. Owens and Sr. Janet will be responsible for preparing for the opening of Pope John Paul II, scheduled for September 2010 in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County. In addition, Mrs. Owens and Sr. Janet will concurrently serve as the Interim Principal and Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs of St. Pius X High School in Pottstown, Montgomery County, and Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School in Norristown, Montgomery County, respectively. Previously, Owens was Principal at Kennedy-Kenrick. She also served as Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs and chairperson of the Science department at St. Pius where she worked for over 18 years. Sr. Janet served as Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs, Assistant Principal for Student Services and chairperson of the Mathematics department during her 16-year tenure at Kennedy-Kenrick.

Eighth Grade Visitation Day
Thursday, November 19 - Universal Eighth Grade Visitation Day
Pope John Paul II High School is hosting interested eighth grade students at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Education Center (BTC), 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, on Universal Visitation Day. Students interested in attending PJPII are asked to choose one of the following three options:
1. Go directly to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Education Center. Parents/guardians are asked to drop students off at BTC at 9:00 a.m. and pick students up at BTC at 2:00 p.m.
2. Go to Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School, 250 East Johnson Highway, Norristown, PA, and ride a bus to BTC. Parents/guardians are asked to drop students off at KKCHS at 8:00 a.m. and pick students up at KKCHS at 2:15 p.m.
3. Go to St. Pius X High School, 844 North Keim Street, Pottstown, PA, and ride a bus to BTC. Parents/guardians are asked to drop students off at St. Pius at 8:00 a.m. and pick students up at St. Pius at 2:15 p.m.
Parent Information Nights
Wednesday, November 4 - PJP Parent Information Night at Sacred Heart, Royersford - 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Thursday, November 12 - PJP Parent Information Night at St. Eleanor, Collegeville - 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Pope John Paul II Administrators and officials from the Office of Catholic Education will host these Parent Information Nights to inform all interested families about plans for the new high school and answer questions.
