CARDINAL RIGALI TO CELEBRATE MASS FOR
FEAST OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE

Cardinal Justin Rigali, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will be the celebrant and homilist for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass in the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Americas. Music for the Mass will be provided by a mariachi band. The Mass will be followed by the maņanitas, which consists of the serenading of Our Lady Guadalupe, with typical Guadalupe hymns played by the mariachis, the participation of other choirs and a children's pastorelas group. The celebration will conclude at 11:00 p.m.

Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul
18th Streets and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway
Philadelphia

This is the first time this Feast Day Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral. This feast has grown in importance over the years. In the past there have been celebrations in different parishes of the Archdiocese that will certainly continue this year. Last year, for the first time, the maņanitas were held in the Cathedral on December 11th featuring the representation of the Guadalupe apparitions.
