Cardinal Justin Rigali, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will lead an Ecumenical Prayer Service in remembrance of the life of Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. This is the 27th anniversary of this service sponsored by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. All are welcome to attend.

On Monday, January 18, 2010 the Office for Black Catholics, in collaboration with Archdiocesan High Schools and the Community Service Corps, is sponsoring a Day of Community Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Young people will begin their day with prayer led by Most Reverend Robert Maginnis, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia.

At the conclusion of the prayer service students will proceed to service sites across the Archdiocese, including: Women of Hope, Saint John the Evangelist Parish and Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish.
