DON GUANELLA SCHOOL TO HOST DEDICATION CEREMONY FOR
NEW ACCESSIBLE BASEBALL FIELD

Don Guanella's Challenger Baseball League Celebrates 20th year


Don Guanella School in Delaware County will host a dedication ceremony for its new accessible baseball field. The new field was made possible through generous donations from: Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast High School, Valero Refinery, Marple Township and Volunteers from the Challenger Baseball League. The young men of Don Guanella and representatives from Valero and Marple Township will be on hand for the dedication. Don Guanella's Challenger League is one of the oldest baseball leagues of its kind in the country. This year marks the celebration of the league's 20th season.

The field will be used by Don Guanella students, the women of Divine Providence Village and the men from Cardinal Krol Center. A Challenger baseball game will be played immediately following the ceremony.

Don Guanella School is a facility operated by Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in Springfield, Delaware County, for boys with a wide variety of disabilities ranging in age from six to 21.
