REVEREND CARL D. CELLUCCI

1928 - 2010


Reverend Carl D. Cellucci, Retired and Resident, Saint Francis Country House, Darby, died of end stage renal cancer at Saint Francis Country House, on Sunday, June 6, 2010.

Father Cellucci was born on October 31, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late Carl Cellucci and the late Gerarda Acchione. Father Cellucci attended Saint Donato Parochial School, Philadelphia, and Saint Thomas More High School, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.

Father Cellucci was ordained on May 30, 1953, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by Most Reverend John F. O'Hara. Father Cellucci served as Parochial Vicar at Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, Easton; Holy Rosary Parish, Reading; Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, Chester; Mater Dolorosa Parish, Philadelphia; Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Bridgeport; Annunciation B.V.M. Parish, Philadelphia; and Holy Saviour Parish, Norristown. Father Cellucci served as Pastor at Saint Mary of the Eternal Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish, Philadelphia; and Mother of Divine Grace Parish, Philadelphia.

The service of the Transfer of the Body will be held at Saint Francis Country House, Darby, on Friday, June 11, 2010, at 9:00 AM, followed by a viewing. In the absence of Cardinal Justin Rigali, Most Reverend Louis A. DeSimone will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Father Cellucci at Saint Francis Country House, Darby, on Friday, June 11, 2010, at 11:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor George A. Majoros and Reverend Monsignor Daniel J. Sullivan. Monsignor Sullivan will be the homilist

Father Cellucci is survived by his sister, Lorraine (Joseph) Connolly, his brother, Carmen Thomas Cellucci, and nieces and nephews. Interment will be at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
