REVEREND JOSEPH B. GRAHAM

1936 - 2010


Reverend Joseph B. Graham, Pastor, Saint Jerome Parish, Philadelphia, died of cardiogenic shock at Nazareth Hospital, Philadelphia, on Tuesday, December 28, 2010.

Father Graham was born on April 20, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late Joseph B. Graham and the late Lelia H. Corr. Father Graham attended Saint Cecilia Parochial School, Philadelphia, and Northeast Catholic High School, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.

Father Graham was ordained on May 18, 1963, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by Most Reverend John J. Krol. Father Graham served as Parochial Vicar at Annunciation B.V.M. Parish, Havertown; Saint Monica Parish, Philadelphia; Ascension of Our Lord Parish, Philadelphia; and Saint David Parish, Willow Grove. He also served as Director of the Archdiocesan Institutional Services, Inc., and as Pastor, Saint Francis Xavier Parish, Philadelphia. In June 1990, Father Graham was named Pastor, Saint Jerome Parish, Philadelphia.

The Reception of the Body will be held at Saint Jerome Church, Philadelphia, on Monday, January 3, 2011, at 4:00 PM, followed by a viewing. A Parish Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 PM.
His Eminence Cardinal Justin Rigali will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Father Graham at Saint Jerome Church on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held from 9:00 - 10:30 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Dennis P. Boyle, Reverend Joseph J. Gallagher, Reverend Monsignor James J. Graham, Reverend Joseph E. Howarth, Reverend Monsignor James P. McCoy, Reverend Monsignor Charles E. McGroarty, and Reverend Monsignor Daniel J. Sullivan. Monsignor Graham will be the homilist.

Father Graham is survived by his sister, Maryanne, and his brother, Reverend Monsignor James J. Graham. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
