BREAKS GROUND FOR NEW CHURCH
Most Reverend Bishop Daniel E. Thomas, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia will preside over a Blessing of the Grounds Ceremony and Groundbreaking for the new Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Church on

Bishop Thomas and Reverend Paul C. Brandt, Pastor, will be joined by officials from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Montgomery County, and Limerick Township.
On July 1, 2006, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia established Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish after consolidation of Saint Peter Parish in Pottstown and Saint Clare Parish in Linfield. Mass is currently celebrated in the gymnasium of the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Education Center. The new church is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2012.
The new Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church will incorporate religious artifacts from Saint Boniface Church and Saint Clement Church, both formerly located in Philadelphia. A thirty-seven foot high curare marble altar from Saint Boniface Church, dating to 1910, is the central focus of the design of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church. Along with the marble altar, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta will preserve the carved mahogany pipe organ and classically detailed wood confessionals from Saint Boniface. Additionally, 19th century Bavarian stained glass windows will be incorporated into the Church. The windows were originally located in Saint Clement Church and were fashioned by the renowned Myers Studios in Germany.
