Deacon Richard L. Fremont died at Temple University Hospital on Friday, May 6, 2011.

Deacon Fremont was born on August 10, 1952 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Saint Anastasia Parochial School, Newtown Square, Marple-Newtown High School, and West Chester University. Deacon Fremont served as an Executive at General Air Products a family owned and operated business.

Deacon Fremont was ordained a permanent deacon on June 4, 2000, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by Most Reverend Robert P. Maginnis. Deacon Fremont served as Permanent Deacon at Saint Peter Parish, Honeybrook and was currently assigned to Saint Elizabeth Parish, Upper Uwchlan.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, at Saint Elizabeth Church, 100 Saint Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs, 19425. His Eminence Cardinal Justin Rigali will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Deacon Fremont at Saint Elizabeth Church, Upper Uwchlan, on Friday, May 13, 2011, at 11:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor Thomas M. Mullin and Reverend Christopher B. Rogers. The Homilist and Deacon of the Word will be Deacon Albert J. George. Serving as Deacon of the Eucharist will be Deacon Salvatore R. Bianco.

Deacon Fremont is survived by his wife Sharon, and his daughter, Rachel. Interment will be at Saint Agnes Cemetery in West Chester.
