Reverend Michael J. Heim, Parochial Vicar, Saint Dominic Parish, Philadelphia, died at Holy Redeemer Hospital, on Friday, May 4, 2012.

Father Heim was born on January 3, 1957, in Levittown, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late William Heim and the late Sophia Rydzewska. Father Heim attended Saint Joseph the Worker Parochial School, Fallsington, and Bishop Egan High School, Fairless Hills, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.

Father Heim was ordained on May 15, 1982, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by His Eminence John Cardinal Krol. Father Heim served as Parochial Vicar at Saint Hugh of Cluny Parish, Philadelphia; Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, Philadelphia; Visitation B.V.M. Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Stephen Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Joan of Arc Parish, Philadelphia; and Saint Dominic Parish, Philadelphia.

The Reception of the Body will be held at Saint Dominic Church, Philadelphia, on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at 4:00 PM, followed by a viewing. A parish Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 PM. Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Father Heim at Saint Dominic Church, on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 10:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor Federico A. Britto, Reverend Edward T. Kearns, Reverend Eduardo G. Montero, and Reverend Herbert J. Sperger. Father Sperger will be the homilist.

Father Heim is survived by his sister, Patricia, and his brother, John. Internment will be at Holy Trinity/Saint Ignatius Cemetery, Yardley.
